TRADEIT Google Apps
 

A TRADEIT Google Apps account has been created to provide TRADEIT consortium members with a reliable and secure means of:

  • Storing documents
  • Collaborating on documents
  • Sharing the TRADEIT calendar

If you will be accessing, creating or sharing TRADEIT documents it is essential you take the time to familiarise yourself with your Google App account.

A recording of Newsweaver's recent webinar training session on Google Apps is included with this email for those of you who were unable to attend the training.

What is Google Apps?

Google Apps is a web-based document management and collaboration application provided by Google. It allows users to simultaneously comment on and edit documents online in real-time with other contributors.



Google Apps is a web-based document management and collaboration application provided by Google. It allows users to simultaneously comment on and edit documents online in real-time with other contributors.

TRADEIT will use Google Apps when there is a need to collaborate on documents during the project and to display upcoming events in the centralised TRADEIT calendar.  It provides secure online sharing of these documents and allows all contributors see changes and comments made by other contributors in real time.  TRADEIT will use Google Apps when there is a need to collaborate on or store documents during the project.

To login to your TRADEIT Google account

If you are logged into a different Google account (e.g. your personal gmail account) you must first log out of that account before you can log into your TRADEIT account.

Project area on the TRADEIT website

  • Go to the TRADEIT website and click on the Project Login link at the top of the page.
  • Under the Collaboration links click on 'Google Drive' or 'Google Calendar' buttons
  • You will be asked to enter your TRADEIT Google account login details, unless you are already logged in.

Over the next few days you will be issued with login details to access the project page.

  • You will be asked to enter your TRADEIT Google account login details

New TRADEIT website project area
 

A project area has been added to the TRADEIT website. The purpose of the page is to provide access to online tools that will be used during the project as well as providing access to the project calendar and training material.

In the coming weeks additional features will be added to meet team collaboration requirements identified by project team such as Members News and Upcoming Events.

To access the members intranet portal page
Go to the TRADEIT website and click on the the Project Login on the top right of the page. You will be asked to enter a username ( your email addess) and a unique password that will be issued to you over the next few days.


Calendar

The calendar will display key project dates set by the Project Office. It will be possible to scroll forward to see upcoming key dates.

Collaboration links
The portal includes links to each of the collaboration tools used within the TRADEIT Intranet including

  • Google Drive - for document storage and collaboration (all partners)
  • Google Calendar - for managing TRADEIT meeting and events among the partners (all partners)
  • Newsweaver - for managing project emails and event invitations (Project Office and Hubs only)
  • Electronic Market - scheduled for release late March (placeholder link only)

Access to each of the above tools will require separate login details, which have already been provided to the appropriate partners.
